Del Mar Beach Hotel

“The only oceanfront Hotel in Del Mar. This hotel has been recently renovated, and I would highly recommend it. The location is great and the customer service is very friendly. We received a glass of sparkling rosé at check-in. They also have a espresso machine for your morning coffee, which has a lot of choices instead of just the coffee maker in your room. They also have some fresh pastries for sale that are made locally. You can also get fresh filtered water from the lobby, which is open 24 hours a day. The rooms are spacious and large. They have a walkway on either side of the building that goes to the beach and they also have a covered patio with lounge chairs for sitting out and staring at the ocean. The location is good for a walk up to the main street in Del Mar for restaurants and cafés. Parking is free, which is a huge plus.”

“I absolutely LOVED my stay at the Del Mar Beach Hotel!! It was difficult to find oceanfront properties at a decent price point in the San Diego area; this property was not only reasonably priced but also in pristine condition. Everything was SO clean and the service was fantastic. Parking was limited, but if you had to park next door (paid parking) they took that cost off of your final bill. EXCELLENT customer service. I would absolutely stay again if I ever return to the San Diego area!”

“Excellent hotel BUT..be aware of the parking. Hotel location is great, next to the beach, and some great restaurants next door. Room had very comfortable beds, was clean, and decent size. Only minor complaint would be the shower head is attached to ceiling so you are unable to adjust. The patio at back of hotel has a great view of the beach and ocean. Several chairs to sit and relax. Downtown Del Mar is about 1/2 mile up a moderate hill with some excellent food options. Our biggest complaint was parking. The lot is kind of small and possible you will not have a spot. There are metered parking spots next to hotel. However, if you forget to update your meter before 8am you’ll get a ticket ($54). It happened to us once and another day we had to pay for an all day metered spot due to a 2nd car.”

“The location here can't be beat, and the staff were all amazingly kind and helpful. On the down side, I slept horribly my whole stay- the hotel is so quiet, no white noise, and the building is old, so people just walking normally in the room above you is deafening, and our upstairs neighbors literally walked around their room seemingly for hours starting at 6am. The rooms are very bright too, so sleeping in is hard. Our first night, also, some people pulled into the Posideon parking lot next door and blasted music for an hour at 2am. Police were called and eventually chased them off, but again sleep was really hard to come by. That said would I stay again? Yes. The location, the patio, all so convenient and beautiful for a beach stay. I would definitely bring a sleep mask, earplugs, and prescription sleep medication, would have massively improved the experience.”

“A hidden gem… the cutest hotel ever!! My girlfriends and I came for a one night getaway and it was perfect. The hotel is RIGHT on the beach and you have an incredible patio to enjoy the view. Lots of chairs and seating and even firepits! Super friendly and helpful staff at the hotel- we came in late night to get croissants at the front desk and he brought out a whole fresh batch for us :) Bar and coffee bar in the lobby is such a nice touch! I made myself a flat white and sat and watched the morning beach scene. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and loved the glass of rose at check-in. We will be back!!”
